Interpreters Niagara Hamilton

The Service
Interpreters Niagara Hamilton provides spoken interpretation services to reduce language barriers between service providers and their clients in the Region of Niagara and the City of Hamilton.
Our role is to enable individuals and service providers the opportunity to communicate accurately and confidentially through professionally qualified interpreters.
Interpretation Service is available for:

Individual or group counselling settings
Domestic violence shelters, domestic violence court preparation, crown attorney meetings
Police
Appointments with housing, social assistance
Legal appointments
Hospitals (including sexual assault units)
Medical appointments
Schools for parent teacher meetings
Health, community, family services
Government services
and more

Type of Service:

On-site (face to face) interpretation between the service provider and their non-English speaking client. Documents requiring client’s signature can be sight-translated to ensure complete comprehension.
Telephone interpretation is done by three-way conference call between the service provider, the non-English speaking client and the assigned interpreter.
Message relays are brief messages relayed to the non-English speaking client such appointment reminders, instructions, etc.

Fees:
If your client is a victim of domestic violence, sexual violence, or human trafficking, funding from the Ministry of Citizenship & Immigration is generously provided to cover the cost of interpreter services. If your client does not fall into the criteria, please contact us for non-profit and business rates.

Once the assignment has been scheduled, we will call you back to confirm interpreter availability. We will do our best to accommodate your request.
We accept interpreter requests from the service provider who will be providing a service to the non-English speaker. All bookings must be made directly with INCommunities’ staff and can be submitted by online form, phone, or email. Please note that this is not an emergency services; please provide as much notice as possible to schedule an interpreter.
*24 hours cancellation notice is required.
